âSweetie would you like a drink? Iâm just going to get oneâ¦â
âAnything non-alcoholic please, Helen,â Cara giggled, wriggling her leg from her friend, Sanderâs playful grip. âGet off me for goodnessâ sake!â
âIâm sure your stay in Estepona last week was a lot more chilledâ¦â Helen smirked, before walking away.
Pulling a face at Cara, the lean, tanned man stood up, breathing in the Mediterranean sea air on the sun deck as they cruised towards Porquerolles for some scuba diving. âYou need to apply more than enough sun tan lotion my dear,â Sander lectured, glistening back down at her shimmering body in the sun through his bronze-tinted sunglasses. He lowered himself onto the white sunbed beside her, sweeping his hand across his dark hairy chest.
âWell youâve ensured that,â she quipped, smiling within herself. âNext time Iâll kick you straight overboard.â
âYou would miss me.â
Cara looked up at Sander again, who was a cute friend sheâd met through Helen, although they didnât exactly stay in touch much. âWhen people ask where you are, Iâll just tell them youâve stayed in the French Riviera to make a splash,â she informed flatly.
âVery funny!â
Smirking, she put her sunglasses back on, hearing some friends plunging into the Jacuzzi behind them, which separated the pale aqua-coloured dining area. Her time in Estepona with Sirena was certainly more pleasurable, but she wished Sirena could be cruising along beautiful coastlines with her â if Sirena could have come, she would have simply loved it but she was back at her office, unable to play. âYou know,â she continued. âI had no idea that Vladimir was making his yacht available for charter?â
âWell my sweet, he needs to enhance its resale value, doesnât he?â
âOhâ¦â Cara pulled a curious expression and leaned up, spotting Helen approaching with her drink.
âFor when I buy it for you,â Sander added cheekily.
Glancing over at him, she shot him a tight-lipped grin. She had more than enough male friends who kept pushing their luck! Thanking Helen, she slid back comfortably on her sunbed. She treated her parents to cruises along enchanting and serene coastlines, but since her separation from David, they pulled subtle protests here and there and one was by declaring themselves too busy with their own plans to take a yacht trip that summer with her. But they were so proud of the life she had created for herself. They simply adored Giles â and David.
âOh myâ¦â
A trickle of ice cold water ran to her belly button.
âI think we should take a dip!â Sander took off his sunglasses, exposing the playful twinkle in his blue eyes. Caraâs name was being called from the Jacuzzi as Sanderâs fingers submerged into his glass again with that daft cheeky smile!
âNo!â she panicked with laughter, almost falling off her sunbed.
